I live in Missoula, Montana, and split my time between reading, writing, working as an IT consultant and walking my Australian-cross named Blue around town and in the mountains.

I've taught composition and literature at the University of Montana, shown my photographs in galleries in Montana, and have published journalism and a collection of oral history. I've received grants from the Montana Arts Council, Humanities Montana and The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies.

This website and my monthly blog (read the introduction or the newest entry October) chronicle work on my forthcoming book, The Falls Creek Grizzly - Stories and Histories Along Montana's Rocky Mountain Front, forthcoming from the University of Nebraska Press.

You can contact me here.
